Population of France

Modern French people to a large extent, the indigenous and represents a fusion of many people of Celtic, Germanic, Latin and Slavic origin. Contrary to what happened in many other countries, immigrants come together so well in the current French society, that today it is difficult to determine the ethnic origins of most French citizens. A more ethnically marked - immigrants is the 20 th century, including the alleged 4 million foreigners, mostly Portuguese, Spaniards and Italians, and many French people, most of them Arabs, who came to France in the 1960's from former French colonies in Algeria and South Africa. In 1990, approximately 2.5 million Africans were living in northern France.

Official language - French, spoken by most people. French understood and spoken by virtually the entire population, although other languages and dialects are saved along with the French in the peripheral areas. The French language is the people of many nations in Africa, Haiti, French Guiana. Writing on the basis of the Latin alphabet. About 80% of the population formally belongs to the Roman Catholic Church, but very few people regularly participate in church life. Less than 2% of the population are Protestants, about 1% - Jews, Muslims, who recently moved to France from former North African colonies, about 4%.
Among the French people: Claude Monet, Victor Hugo, Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Joan of Arc, Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis Braille, Louis Pasteur, Gustave Eiffel, Jean Cocteau, Gustave Flaubert, Jean-Paul Sartre, Voltaire, Paul Sizan, Paul Gauguin, Blaise Pascal, François Yakob, Blaise Pascal, Brigitte Bordeaux, Catherine Deneuve, Jean Reno, Jean ROCHEFORT, Pierre Cardin and many others.
Today, French people attached great importance to the appearance of people who think that fashion to influence them, they look at others and they like when looking at them, it makes sense, as well as restaurants and recreational facilities in clean and decorated. They love fashion and good food.
Many French are very polite and direct, they are accustomed to speak of things as is, even if sometimes you do not like it. And that the French are friendly and polite, will see later, when more than talk to them.
